Write an About page that reflects your site
Replace generic claims with a clear purpose, accurate ownership, and a contact route.
An About page gives readers context. It should explain what the site does and who is responsible for it. A generated draft can help arrange the words, but the facts must come from you.
Describe the service directly
Tell a new reader what they can do on your site. “We provide browser-based tools for converting and resizing images” is easier to understand than “We are an innovative digital platform.” Add limits that affect users, such as supported files and whether processing happens on their device or on a server.
State only what you can support
If you choose to name an owner, editor, or organization, use accurate information. Do not invent a team, founding story, credentials, awards, or professional experience to make a template sound complete. It is better to omit an unknown detail than to present it as fact.
Explain how the publication works
For a site that publishes articles, explain how subjects are selected and how errors can be reported. For a tool site, explain what the tools actually do and how the instructions relate to their behavior. Keep this description consistent with the privacy page and the tool pages.
Make contact possible
Provide a contact method you monitor. Check that a contact form has accessible labels, clear success or error feedback, and a working submission route. A visible email address can provide another option when the form cannot send a message.
Review a generated draft
- Use the draft generator with your factual description.
- Remove phrases that do not reflect your work.
- Add relevant details the template cannot know.
- Check every name, address, and claim.
- Read the published page on a phone and follow its links.
Keep expectations realistic
An About page can improve clarity and accountability, but it cannot guarantee approval from an advertising network. It does not replace useful original content, working tools, accurate policies, or a good experience across the rest of the site.
